24 December 2009

Year's review-taken from Amber

1. Was 2009 a good year for you?

It was ok, it was certainly better than 2008, but that's not saying much, because 2008 was awful.

2. What were your New Year's Resolutions and did you keep them?

1) Pay off overdraft and a sizeable chunk of my credit card / earn a little more money- yep. The overdraft is nearly gone, and I lowered the limit on my credit card
2) Get back into the swing of listing things on Etsy again, and make a bit of cash that way- it came and went
3) Start using Pilates dvd again, it does wonders for my achey back- ha, no
4) Use up all of fabric stash to make nice things- nope
5) Knit some leg warmers- sort of done
6) Go through photos on hard disk, and sort out ignored ones. Ditto for unscanned films in negative binder- nope
7) Post-process/scan photos right after taking them in future, don't leave them languishing on the hard drive- yes
8) Eat 5 pieces of fruit per day, I managed it all through the summer- no
9) Eat less crap in general- yes
10) Tart up the bathroom/cover hideous black tiles- I moved out instead
11) Add more stuffing to papasan chair - done
12) Be regular about making zines - done
13) Finish off personal website -done
14) Start writing letters regularly again.- sort of done
15) Go out more. Mope less.- hah, no
16) Actually make use of my lovefilm subscription and start watching loads of films again, and keeping track of what I liked and disliked about each in my film notebook- no, in fact I didn't use lovefilm at all in 2009
17) Stick big bag full of interesting snippings into relevant notebooks- done
20) Take better care of my personal appearance. I feel like my standards had lapsed last year, not in a slobby way, but in a not being well turned out at all times way.

3. Do you have any New Year's Resolutions for 2010?

2) get more sleep

More money. Less stress.

Not much. I'm not very excitable.

To be totally debt-free

19. Favourite film of this year?

20. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I was 24. I went for a job interview I didn't get (and the school refused to reschedule the interview), in a depressing port town, and they kept me waiting so long that I ended up having to cancel the fun stuff I was supposed to be doing in London with Chris, like dinner. We saw Animal Collective with Dave from Pete & the Pirates and his girlfriend Becky and had a great time. On the way home I dropped my ipod on the train and it smashed. Better birthday next year please.

I was going to say not really, but then I realised that I probably made a new friend last night.

26. Quote a song that sums up your year:

"What did you want to see? What did you want to be when you grew up?"

27. Where were you when 2009 began?

In Reading with Chris and the two Bryonys.

Already was

The usual suspect

Nope. Still going strong.

Not really, I was a skint hermit for a lot of the year.

40. What was your most embarrassing moment of 2009?
I can't remember one. Either I don't have one, or it's so awful I've blocked it out

41. If you could go back in time to any moment of 2009 and change something, what would it be?

Make my house move far less stressful.

42. What are your plans for 2010?
Eat good stuff. Not neglect either hobbies or friendships. Be tidy. Go to lots of gigs, ATP and the Pavement reunion
